I've largely been staying out of this one, but fish, i take issue with one of your points:

2) If the minor dies, all the cards can be used to heal. Not necessarily the best tactical option but by no means dead. However, any card of Vader's that targets minors now has no target. So the exchange is very much not in Vader's favor.

I explained in my list that against Vader you can't hardly afford to discard to heal with your minor cards. You HAVE to keep defense in your hand because of ATE. Which means that you've got to draw and strike draw and strike to beat vader. If you draw and heal, then you are just going to take more damage than you'll heal through Vader attacking you.

This is why I said the minor cards without the minors would be "mostly dead weight" emphasis on mostly.

Also Vader's weakness is hardly any defense. Which means that taking out the minor's ability to pop shot you is very useful to him, and it needs to happen quick. Another reason to have 3.
