Hags: to get a better feel for your thinking, I'm going to go a little off-topic: what do you think of Maul's design? Based on your argument, it is a bad design to give him a Red basic because it works against his PtV. Do you really feel a "better design" would be to give him the Blue or Green basic and lower the values of his power combat attacks?

I think Maul's design is great. His PtV is all about attacking...so red fits perfectly. Not every deck needs a balance of elements. His is a tipping in the direction of attack power, and red not only supports the deck idea, but it has a built in weakness. Now, before you interpret that last sentence wrong, let me clarify. Every deck needs not only a PtV, but what I am calling a "Path to Defeat". If Maul had a Green Deck and those Blinding Surges were D5's instead of D0's...nobody would like it. It would win everytime, and the added defense would not really support the "attack" scheme like the added offense that Red does.

I'm curious to see how you think Red doesn't support his PtV?
