Lee,

I really think you have brought alot back to this group. You're really sparking some good discussion again. Thanks for that!!!!

I think that Volleyballgy and I aren't really saying that it's not so much of a "flawed" design. I know he may have used that term, but I think a better way to say it is that we think there is a path to victory with the deck, and we think the cards DO work together.

Now that being said, it's a very tricky path, and we still think it probably could be a bit better.

Note: Even with my defense of Vader's deck I still rank him probably the 2nd weakest deck in the game

I think you guys are being too obvious with your views on his path to victory. You are saying there are 2 paths to victory with his deck. I think volleyballgy would agree with me that these two paths aren't actually seperate paths, but two components that somewhat work toward one path to victory.

Vader's actual path to victory is to damage his opponent, and he does this by just unleashing as much carnage as he possibly can. He has easy ways to eliminate the minor characters, and this eliminate's potential threats quickly. He Then attempts to setup high powered attacks by using his ATE as an intimidating card to keep the opponent's major at bay. While I have my reservations with ATE being an NPE, it does work to compliment his other aspects. YSANC allows you to see their hand and to know if it is wise to move in for some killing blows. It's a great way to setup ATE. He also relies heavily on his basic deck. I would say Vader probably relies more on his basic deck than arguably most other characters.

Is his deck easy to play?
No?

Do I think it could use a little tweaking?
Yes I think it could slightly, but not much...

The main point... While he isn't the best character, I feel his deck was very well thought out. It's an obscure path to victory, but the whole deck does work towards that goal. I would not say that the designers poorly designed his deck. Sometimes though designers OVERESTIMATE (yes sorry not underestimate) the power of some cards in card based games.
