I guess, as you pointed out, your issue is mainly with people calling Vader's deck a "flawed" design. It seems to me that you have conceded it as a weak deck, especially in 1v1 games, but you don't consider it a flawed design -- would that be a fair statement?

Maybe this is a semantics issue here. Also, I think it's important to remember that Rob and Craig at Hasbro designed this game for the mass market --- I mean, it was sold at Wal-Mart after all. I seriously doubt they suspected serious gamers would dissect this game to no end.

Vader's cards certainly support his path to victory of direct damage -- but I think it also fair to say that these cards effectively weaken each other as well --- whether it's the very existence of a card like ATE or whether subsequent talent cards become weaker because of previous ones played, the issue remains that his cards are very counterproductive in nature. Now, is that a design flaw? Well, that depends on how you define flaw from the constructs of game design.

I would just say that his talent cards weren't well designed --- you can certainly see the intent there, and it was a great concept, but I just don't think it was as fleshed out as well as it could have been.
