I know that the decks aren't completely balanced --- and I'm a fan of that --- but this is Darth Vader --- he should have been designed a little stronger.

QUOTE (volleyballguy)
I think it currently sits in a place where it is neither too effective nor too ineffective, or in other words, it is "effective enough."

I thought it interesting to highlight these two statements. I think the crux of the Vader issue is that most of us would prefer to see a Darth Vader deck that is formidable, and that is more along the lines of a Tier I or Tier II deck (like Mace, Dooku or Yoda). Vader's deck is currently a solid Tier III deck and nothing more.

Lee's comments fit more along with how I perceive the balance and power of the deck, and also matchs many of the comments and complaints I have seen. Volley's comments match the opposition who have defended Vader's weak deck as being appropriate for an aging and less powerful Vader. To respond to Volley's comments "it is neither too effective nor too ineffective", I definitely disagree. The few Tier III decks aside (Luke, Han and Jango), his deck is absolutely nothing but ineffective. While I agree with Sultan that not all the decks should be the same power level (some decks *should* be stronger than others), some of the decks miss the mark. I prefer to see decks that are much closer in power level, and IMO the range of Jango to Obi-Wan is the absolute extreme. For the game to be fun, every deck should at least have a *chance* (if you want to talk numbers I'd say no less than 33%) at beating any other deck. In this regard, I very much think the game is broken, and Vader's deck is a prime reason for this.

We'll all have our opinions about how the characters *should* rank, and we even have our differing opinions about how the characters *actually* rank. But, for me, Vader's deck misses the mark not only in play records, but deck playability and "fun" as well. I just absolutely hate playing a game with Vader's deck, mainly because I think the deck is so ineffective in nearly every aspect (with the exception of Luke, Han and Jango...I guess).

Darth Trumpetus...trumpeter of fury.
