Here's an average Obi draw of only 8 cards:
4/2, 5/1, Jedi Attack, Force Control, 3/3, 1/4, CT 1/2 x2, CT 2/1, CT 3/1. There's nothing real spectactular about that, but it does give the possibility of 22 attack points over 4 attacks.
Here's an average Anakin draw of only 8 cards:
5/1 x2, Padme 3/1, Shot on the Run, 4/2, Anger, Padme 2/3, Padme 1/4. Again, nothing real spectacular here either, but it still gives him 24 attack points over 4 attacks.
I can keep going with every single character, but as long as you include at least two power attacks, which is reasonable considering random draws, just about every character get get 20+ attack points. Vader on the other hand, assuming an average, *might* have a defend of 3 or 4, but otherwise he's much more likely to only have defends of 1 or 2. Even so, after 4 attacks, if Vader survives, he'll be left with what, 5 hit points?
As to the movement factor, sure it trims down one action for most characters to get into postition, but so what? With only ST's as support and no movement cards of his own, he's at a *severe* disadvantage in terms of positioning. It's not difficult to put yourself in better position than Vader. And with the movement card as a first action, you would still get the advantage of an attack first, which means Vader retaliates with 2 attacks (which are going to be what, a 5/1 and a DSD??), then you hit him back for 2 more. Odds are good that you can sustain two more attacks from Vader before you finish him off with either your fourth or fifth attack. I have yet to see a single convincing argument that says his "path to victory" is effective and well supported. Remote pointed out some less lopsided matches, but I still maintain the deck is not good. We can argue all day long about this or that scenario, but the fact remains, Vader's deck is consistently ineffective, and I think Sultan is right on the money in identifying the path to victory as the culprit. Give Vader some movement, some defense or both, and suddenly you'd have a deck worth playing.
