So, if the opponent moves in and gets the first two attacks, what's Vader going to do to stop it?

Well, if as Vader you allow your opponent to move in and get the first two attacks, you either are playing poorly or are getting unlucky die rolls. Certainly, you can't stop your opponent from using a movement card to get one first attack (only Jango is a major that can move w/out action), but putting Vader in a position where an opponent can attack first with both actions is just silly. I also don't think most characters can finish Vader off in two turns (3-4 actions) as you describe. If they can, that indicates a very good draw (e.g. Dooku w/ all 4 tauntings, which Vader can still survive). I don't think anyone except Maul can kill him in 3 actions, and it would be rare that anyone else kills him in 4, either (Boba w/ KD, DA, and both TD's could do it, or Mace w/ 2 BM and 2 WWA -- again great draws and can be disrupted w/ YSANC -- but other than the 4 tauntings and the previously excluded Maul, no one else can hit for more than 26 defendable damage in 4 actions. Is it possible that Vader has neither 7 defense combined from 4 cards nor gains any life from DSD? Certainly. But I consider this a losing scenario for any character -- great draw for opponent and no defense drawn for self.

In Italy for thirty years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace. And what did that produce? The cuckoo-clock.
