Heh...I always have to remind myself that you DO have an English degree...my bad. Your suggestion could work, but then the question is...does "Grievous' characters" include Grievous himself? I think that is equally confusing.

Maybe this could work...although it's a bit wordy:

"Choose one opponent with a character adjacent to either Grievous or any Magnaguards. That player must choose and discard 2 cards for each of Grievous or any Magnaguards that are still in play."

Does that work? In this instance, I replaced "those characters" with "Grievous or any Magnaguards"...
