I was getting very close to mentioning my distaste for the Shield track being seperate from the HP track unitl I saw this:

That is just way too cool. I like the idea because they cannot use their shields while moving in the movie. Superb idea.

I like this design, it is kind of like Darth Maul ranged. The cards are simple and easy to understand. This is a very straight forward deck.

You may need to clarify this. Does it mean if the shiled has been destroyed or the whole Droideka? I assume it means the shield tracker. You may want it to say "even if they have been reduced to zero." Destroyed is a term that Hasbro uses to refer to the destruction of a character. I understand what you are getting at, I just did a double take when I first read this card.

Now I am not too crazy about the shared basic cards. I do not like that. How about dropping the shared aspect and doing this to SHIELD GENERATOR (changes in bold)...

SHIELD REGENERATOR x1
Both droideka shield tracks recover up to 4 damage, even if they have been reduced to zero. Return this card to the bottom of the draw pile.

Scott, their shields are such a major part of them in the movie. Why not take it one step farther and allow this to recycle once. Of course, when it is pulled a second time as the last card, it cannot go back on the bottom of the draw pile since there is no draw pile. At that point, shuffle it with the discard pile to make a new draw pile. I think this is a fair tradeoff to get rid of the shared basic cards and let their famous shields give you one more thing to worry about.

Robert,

I'm glad you like the shield track and WHEEL FORM card. I thought it might be a little too gimmicky and situational when I implemented it, but in playtesting, I thought it captured the shields pretty well. I'll see if I can reword SHIELD REGENERATOR to make it a little clearer. The returning the bottom of the draw pile is a neat idea, but I'm not sure the deck needs it.

As to the shared card thing, I definitely understand where you're coming from, but my intent is to make both droids identical (I even considered using a custom basic deck for one of them so they would be literally identical...as it stands a 2/3 vs 2/2 is the only difference). The shared deck thing is definitely not a new concept. It's used pretty successfully in the Solo Children deck in the EU, Hands of Blue in Serenifly, and I seem to remember another deck out there somewhere with some shared cards. Part of the reason I wanted to completely overhaul the deck was to use this shared idea, and so far, it works great. While it may "look weird" on paper, in gameplay it works very well. I have yet to playtest this particular shared deck in team games, but I've seen it work well in other team games, so I'm sure it will work in this deck as well. And if you like the deck well enough to use it, and you are adamant about not using shared decks...then don't! But I will be using the shared deck...at least based on playtesting thus far.

Oh, and thanks for the link to the hi-res images. I think I have one of them, but must have missed the other somehow.
